Two tries just before half-time helped them take the lead, having trailed 10-4 - before they cut loose with a super show in the second-half to finish 42-10 victors.

"Liam changed the game for us, he was sensational, and he had a fourth ruled out which I thought was fine," said Lam.

"He does some amazing things and this year he's been one of the best wingers in the competition this year."

The sinbinning of Aidan Sezer, when Wigan trailed 10-4 approaching half-time, proved a flashpoint as the visitors scored four of their eight tries while the ex-Canberra halfback was off the pitch.

"I was really pleased, there was some adversity in the first-half and it was game on for a while - to turn it around and score some points is nice," said Lam.

"I was just pleased with the attitude in the second-half, and our defence has held up firm again to limit them to one try."

Young half Harry Smith did a sterling job in place of Thomas Leuluai - who was injured in the high tackle which saw Sezer sinbinned - while George Burgess crowned a powerful display with the final try.

Lam expects Leuluai and Tony Clubb (shoulder) to recover for next week while Jake Bibby may be back in the mix after missing out for a family bereavement.

"There was some sad news that Jake's grandmother passed, he wasn't really in a state to play and we respect that," added Lam. "Chris Hankinson has been going great in the reserves and he came in and did a pretty good job for us."

Wigan will have a chance to tighten their grip at the top of the table when they welcome lowly Hull KR to the DW Stadium next Sunday.
