Hull coach Brett Hodgson hailed powerhouse forward Chris Satae as "phenomenal" after his two tries help knock Wigan out of the Challenge Cup.

The 28-year-old front rower touched down in each half as the Black and Whites inflicted a first defeat of the campaign on Wigan

"I'm exceptionally pleased, I was really proud of the performance," said Hodgson, whose side won the quarter-final 20-10.

"We had to change a little bit of our rotation and I thought Chris Satae in particular was phenomenal.

"Wigan just don't go away, they play for 80 minutes, and the boys enjoyed the grind of it.

"We played the second best team in the competition and we thought we would need to be near our best."
