Wigan Warriors' Morgan Escare 'unlikely' to be returning to Wakefield Trinity on loan

Wakefield coach Chris Chester says it is "unlikely" they will make a move to recruit Morgan Escare on loan.

The Frenchman suffered a serious shoulder injury in the final match of his loan spell last year, when he caught the eye for the Yorkshire club.

Now fit - he played for Wigan's reserves on Saturday - Escare seems set for another exit on loan, given the lack of opportunity in Adrian Lam's side.

But Trinity coach Chris Chester, who has already recruited Romain Navarrete from Wigan on loan for the season, says budget restraints make a move for the 28-year-old unlikely.

“Morgan was absolutely fantastic for us, he’s a great kid and he was one of the reasons why we got out of trouble," Chester told League Express.

"But at the moment, I’d say it’s unlikely.”

Escare is unable to get into Wigan's side as Bevan French is playing full-back, while centre Zak Hardaker is also at home in the No.1 role.
