Coach Adrian Lam admits he does not expect the veteran front-rower to be available any time soon.

The prop has a neck injury which, Lam says, “doesn’t look good”.

He has already missed Wigan’s two matches since the season restarted and though Lam says he hasn’t got a likely recovery timeframe, he says he may be missing long-term.

“It isn’t looking good,” said Lam.

“It’s something Tony needs to discuss with our doctor.

“Hopefully next week we’ll have a time frame with him.

“We’re missing a few senior players right now and it’d be good to have him – but I think we’re looking possibly long term with him.”

The former London captain, who had neck surgery in 2016, is under contract with Wigan until the end of 2021.
