Morgan Escare will stay at Wigan Warriors next season, despite an offer to return to France.
Escare, who joined Wigan from Catalans Dragons for the 2017 season, had thought about returning to France and had an offer to join Limoux, a French Elite One club.
But the 26-year-old has told Wigan he wants to stay on at the DW, despite new signing Zak Hardaker, who operates in Escare’s full-back position, being eligible to play next term.
He told treizemondial.fr: “A few weeks ago, I thought about all this for personal reasons but it’s behind me.
“I had an appointment with the president of the club and I told them my desire to continue here (at Wigan) and honour my contract.
“I will be a Wigan player in 2019.”
The France international has scored eight tries for Wigan this term.
