Josh Cartwright, who is able to play fullback, wing or centre, has joined Keighley Cougars ahead of their trip to Goole Vikings on Saturday afternoon. The 20-year-old has made two appearances for Wigan since making his first-team debut in a win over Bradford Bulls on May 2. Cartwright has featured heavily for Wigan’s reserves this season and has previously spent time on loan in the Championship with Salford and Oldham.

Cartwright will be joined at Keighley by Jonny Vaughan, who arrived at Wigan ahead of this season on a four-year contract from St Helens. The 21-year-old is yet to make his senior bow for the Warriors, but has consistently featured for the reserves this year. Vaughan has also spent time on loan at Rochdale Hornets, Halifax Panthers and Salford this season.

Meanwhile, hooker Tom Forber and prop Harvey Makin will continue their loan spells with Barrow Raiders, having both featured for Paul Crarey’s side in their win over Sheffield Eagles last weekend. Barrow, who have recently signed former Wigan prop Brad Singleton, host Dewsbury Rams on Saturday evening. Forber has made five appearances for the Warriors this season, while Makin hasn’t played first-team for Wigan since his debut in a win over Huddersfield Giants last July.

Outside-back Nathan Lowe is set to feature for Salford when they host Workington Town on Sunday afternoon. The 21-year-old enjoyed a memorable try-scoring debut for Matt Peet’s side as a youthful Warriors side were defeated at Hull KR the week before the Challenge Cup final at Wembley. Lowe has already played for Salford on loan this year and spent time on loan at Oldham last year.

Young Wigan forward Lukas Mason will head to Halifax Panthers this weekend, with Kyle Eastmond’s side making the trip to North Wales Crusaders. The 20-year-old made his senior Wigan debut last month against Hull KR and has played for Rochdale and Salford on loan this year. Mason also featured for Oldham and London Broncos in 2025.

Reserves forwards Kalum Rathbone and Mike Porter will play for Swinton Lions when they make the trip over to Midlands Hurricanes on Saturday. Rathbone, a loose forward or hooker, was among 10 players to debut for Wigan the week before Wembley, while Porter is set to play his first game at professional level this weekend.
