Williams and Farrell in the mix
The Wigan stand-off will get his chance against Scotland after being left out of the side which went down 17-16 to Scotland.
Forward Liam Farrell will also come into the frame as Wayne Bennett rotates his squad.
Williams, who played in two of England’s Tests against the Kiwis a year ago, and Farrell have yet to play for their country this autumn.
The Grand Finalists were rested for the warm-up Test against France and omitted last Saturday.
But Bennett confirmed at a press conference in Birmingham today that the players who have yet to figure will get a game, with the exception of Leeds’ Stevie Ward.
That means Wigan duo Farrell and Williams will come in, though it is unclear whether Mark Percival (St Helens), Wiganer Stefan Ratchford (Warrington) and ex-Warriors Kevin Brown (Widnes) and Scott Taylor (Hull FC) will get a chance as they all featured against France.
Taylor may come in to replace James Graham, who has a medial tear but is expected to be fit to face Australia in London the following week.
Williams and Farrell will also be hoping to press their cases for inclusion in the squad to face the Kangaroos.
Bennett said: “I’m not going to make too many changes but I want to make sure I’ll give everyone in the squad a game and I’ll make sure I do that this weekend. Stevie Ward is the one exception from the group who won’t play.”
To reach the Anfield final, England need to win their next two matches and either hope the Kiwis beat Australia on Saturday, or get a good enough for-and-against to finish in the top-two in the ladder.
Kick-off on Saturday is 5.30pm at the Coventry double-header, with the Australia-New Zealand Test getting underway 8pm.
