The indie pop group is calling on music lovers across the borough to give their support and help them achieve their dream.

Frontman Thom Rylance said: “We are trying to put the area on the map musically. There’s been no-one from round here for quite a while, since The Buzzcocks in Leigh and maybe The Verve in Wigan. It’s time for us to return and take some of the shine off Manchester.

“We do need people to get behind it. It’s been the most exciting time of our band’s career.”

The band members – Thom (vocals), Rob Lally (guitar), Katie Lloyd (bass) and Joe Singleton (drums) – met while attending schools in Leigh and formed at an open mic night.

Their first gig was at Colliers Rest in Leigh, and they have been working hard for the past 10 years.

They were “discovered” two years ago and signed to Warner Brothers. They have played around the country, including at Glastonbury Festival and supporting Sir Tom Jones, with plans to support Kaiser Chiefs and McFly this year.

They also continue to run open mic nights in Tyldesley and Atherton when they can to support other budding musicians.

And they believe reaching the charts will be a huge achievement.

Thom said: “It would change our lives.

“It would mean we would be unignorable to the music industry and the festivals and the radio. It would change everything.”
