Noel Gallagher and Madness to headline Kendal Calling
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Rudimental, Madness and The Charlatans will headline this year's Kendal Calling festival.
The four day event returns to Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District on July 28 - 31 for its 11th birthday, with Craig David, Toddla T, Everything Everything, The Darkness, We Are Scientists and The Hives also on the bill.
Madness are celebrating 40 years since their formation while Tim Burgess, lead singer of The Charlatans and founder of the festival’s Tim Peaks diner, said it would be an “extra special” four days.
He added: “As ever, I’m really looking forward to Kendal Calling.
“The sixth year in a row for me, the second time The Charlatans will have headlined and this year is the fifth year for Tim Peaks.
“It’s going to be an extra special four days. See you there!”
Hip hop legends Sugarhill Gang will also be filling the customary Friday early evening slot on the main stage.
Kendal Calling founder Ben Robinson said: “My first gig in a field was Loch Lomond watching Oasis twenty years ago.
“That moment defined my youth and calling in the years to follow.
“Noel’s songwriting has soundtracked the lives of millions over the last two decades; it’s with great pride that we’re able to bring those anthems and his new hits to the fields of Kendal Calling.
“Alongside Rudimental, Madness, The Charlatans and the rest of the bill it’s going to be another weekend to remember, see you the fields!”
Last year tickets, currently priced at £135, sold out 19 weeks in advance.
