Wigan musician teams up with Portuguese act for new dance single

She was invited to a songwriting session with the Iberian act, which comprises Fabio Miguel Silva Machado and Diogo Pinto dos Santo, at a studio in Wallasey on the

Wirral, and the result of the creative team’s efforts was Enough.

The Portuguese musicians then decided they also wanted A Me B’s vocals on the finished song.

Enough is a progressive house and dance track and further confirms the move A Me B, whose real name is Amy Burns, has made in recent years, away from her earlier urban style towards the world of floor-filling club tunes and a mixture of dance and pop music.

She said: “It’s an uplifting, feelgood track. We’re getting really positive feedback and support from people who know me, as well as people in Portugal.

“Some of them have been sharing Instagram Stories with the song being played in gyms or in people’s cars. It’s getting a nice reaction.

“It was interesting writing this song because they wanted a really happy track and a lot of my other songs aren’t really in that vein. It was a nice challenge to get that vibe.”

A Me B said she was pleased that music fans are finally getting to hear her collaboration with Alive, as getting Enough out of the studio and released has been a fairly long process.

She has spent this year, in which the live music scene has been almost entirely shut down, writing songs and keeping up her skills as a DJ by doing mix slots on radio stations.

Her last EP released under her own name, 2018’s Wide Awake, brought together elements of pop, hip-hop and electro with socially-conscious lyrics.

She admits she cannot wait to get back in front of an audience playing music, but has managed to take some positives from the unprecedented upheaval of 2020.

She said: “I’m missing playing live but this has been a good time to work and develop new skills as well as relax a little bit.

“This new song is perfect for clubs and I can’t wait to get it out there.

“I’ve been writing a lot of new songs and I’m doing guest mixes on radio on the DJ side. I’ve been keeping myself busy.”
