Dress to impress as Wigan organisation Daffodils Dreams prepares to host its final masquerade ball
“Behind every mask there is a story and behind every fund-raiser there are people who need our help.”
An evening of elegance, celebration and a little bit of magic is promised as a Wigan organisation hosts its final masquerade ball.

Daffodils Dreams CIC is holding the event on Saturday, October 24 at The Brick Community Stadium.
There will be a three-course meal, entertainment, an auction, raffle and awards for the best masks.
Guests are encouraged to dress to impress and help raise funds for the organisation’s work supporting children, individuals and families across Wigan and Leigh.
It provides essentials for people facing difficult circumstances, including families fleeing domestic violence, parents struggling to afford clothing and households needing bedding because of medical conditions.
With referrals and demand for items increasing, money raised at the ball will help Daffodils Dreams to continue responding when people need it most.
Founder and CEO Maureen Holcroft said: “Behind every mask there is a story and behind every fund-raiser there are people who need our help.
“We see families going through incredibly difficult times. Being able to provide clothes, bedding and everyday essentials can lift a huge worry and help them take that next step forward.
“We are so very lucky to have wonderful volunteers who give their time, kindness and energy to Daffodils Dreams. Their support helps us keep stepping up as the need grows.
“I can’t believe just how generous everyone has been. The support from businesses across our borough means so much and shows how much they value the work we do.”
Greenmount Projects is the event’s headline sponsor, joining a growing group of local businesses supporting the evening through sponsorship, services and donated prizes.
Although this will be the organisation’s final masquerade ball, there is plenty more to look forward to.
Maureen said: “This is our last ball and I would love us to make it a really special one. Every ticket, sponsorship and donated prize helps us continue making a difference.
“We have lots of exciting plans for future events, including some we’ve never done before. I’m really looking forward to bringing new ideas to life and giving people different ways to get involved and support Daffodils Dreams. Watch this space!”
Tickets are still available, while businesses and individuals can also give their support by sponsoring an aspect of the event or donating an auction or raffle prize.
