Fireworks are set to light up the dark skies above Wigan this week as a number of events are held to mark Bonfire Night.
Also known as Guy Fawkes Night, November 5 is when people across the country commemorate the day in 1605 when the plot to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate the King was foiled.
This typically involves fireworks and bonfires and there are many events being organised across the borough with these as the main attractions.
