When spring arrives, they expect to see a sea of yellow around school.

Headteacher Mr Roscoe said: "This is a great environmental, sustainable event which will see the daffodils multiply in the ground, returning larger and brighter each year."

The children were very excited and were encouraged to participate in the official Daffodil Day event taking place on Saturday October 24 between 11am and 1pm at Mill Lane playing field.

Armed with thousands of bulbs the volunteers, led by Gill Sinnott, will turn the village yellow next spring.
