Canned and dry foodstuffs are being sought by a Wigan business to donate to armed forces veterans
Donations of store cupboard items are being sought by a local shopkeeper to gift to armed forces veterans
As Remembrance Sunday approaches, a Wigan florist is calling on the community to come together and support local veterans by donating one store-cupboard item.

Based on St Paul’s Avenue at Goose Green, Bloom4Seasons is inviting everyone to drop in with a donation.

Just one item from every person who reads this article could make a massive difference!
Shop owner Michelle Grundy said: “Remembrance is about more than a single day. It’s about recognising the sacrifices made by our armed forces and showing our local veterans that they are valued, supported and never forgotten.

“We’re asking everyone to give what they can. If every person reading this donated just one store-cupboard item, imagine what we could achieve together. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference.”
The initiative is accompanied by a beautiful Remembrance window, painted by talented local artist Sammie from Just Illustrate, bringing a striking message of remembrance to the heart of the community.

Michelle added: “Sammie has done a fantastic job, and we’re so proud to use our shopfront to bring people together for such an important cause.
“It’s a wonderful example of local people and businesses working together to support others.”

Everyone is welcome to contribute, and there is no need to purchase anything from the shop to donate.
Simply drop into Bloom4Seasons with any store-cupboard item you can spare. They will then be taken to the Local Armed Forces Hub.
