Rugby league aces backing Wigan clothing venture

It has proved a massive hit in the 13-man code, with Wigan Warriors legend Sean O’Loughlin, Zak Hardaker and Warrington Wolves’ Ben Currie all getting on board as ambassadors and being photographed in the gear.

However, there is still a certain level of mystery shrouding the company’s public profile as when Wigan Today interviewed the founder of Atmo Strength he made it clear he was speaking anonymously.

However, it was equally obvious that he was delighted with the success of the new venture so far.

He said: “It has gone brilliantly. It’s not just all the Warriors, I’ve had amazing support from Super League lads who play for Leeds and Castleford.

“My main aim is to start off in the North West and get the whole region going about the stuff and then grow organically.

“It’s unfortunate that all the gyms are closed at the moment but a number of them have been in

contact.

“The rugby league guys have all been really enthusiastic about coming on board as ambassadors, which has been great.

“I just got in contact with them through social media.

“I’ve always wanted to do this. It has been tough but I had come to the point where I knew if I didn’t do it now I would never do it.”

The founder said his inspiration for Atmo Strength was Ben Francis, who started fitness wear company Gymshark in his parents’ garage in the Midlands and has enjoyed phenomenal growth which has seen him amass a multi-million-pound fortune.

He also says he has been flattered to receive comparisons to the likes of Under Armour for the new venture’s clothing.

Atmo Strength is currently a one-man band, with the business creator doing everything from designing the logo and modifications to coming up with the website.
