Lucky Hens Wigan reveals next adoption day
An animal rescue organisation which finds new homes for hens which would otherwise be slaughtered has announced the date of its next adoption day.
Lucky Hens Rescue, based in Amberswood, has saved the lives of thousands of birds previously used in commercial egg production.
The team of volunteers work with farmers to arrange to take the birds, rather than them being sent for slaughter when they are no longer needed.
They can then be adopted and become much-loved family pets.
The sanctuary’s next adoption day is Saturday March 14 when new owners can go along to collect the hens.
