“While we cannot guarantee people a job at the end of the course, our ratio of students to employment is impressive.”

Rewarding and secure work

After a turbulent few years, many people are looking for rewarding work in a job with excellent conditions and security. Previous student cohorts have included former police officers, paralegals, teaching assistants and lecturers.

Many graduates already have the transferable life skills and work experience which would make them superb candidates.

Some of the associate teachers are recent graduates, but others are looking for a change of direction in their thirties and forties, bringing valuable experience to the role.

Rob added: “The qualities we are looking for in people is that they are hardworking – they really take pride in whatever job they currently have – and are passionate, enthusiastic and determined. We want people with a positive attitude, who are also very caring.”

The classroom-based training will take place in and around the Chorley area, with a student placement post guaranteed for your training year.

As an associate teacher, you will be a valued and welcome part of the school’s team, gaining valuable, practical experience four days a week, with one day a week spent on theory-based training.

Rob explained: “On successful completion of your year’s training, you will not simply be in possession of a paper qualification (Qualified Teacher Status) but be classroom ready and classroom confident – ready to take your first steps in a career that will bring reward and challenge in equal measure.”
