Record-breaking Wigan students!

At a time when the importance of our healthcare workers has never been so apparent, a record-breaking 39 students from Winstanley College have received offers to study medicine, dentistry and veterinary science at university in September.

Of those MDV students, 29 have offers for medicine courses, five for dentistry and five for veterinary degrees.

Dave Woods who co-ordinates the college’s MDV programme said: “Thirty nine is our highest number ever. To get to this point students have worked extremely hard and preparation starts whilst students are still at high school, so credit must also go to their schools who supported them from the beginning.

“During their time at college students have taken part in our MDV programme which includes work placements, and they have also had gruelling admissions interviews. In these unprecedented times, I’m proud of how all the students are continuing to study for their future careers.”
