A man has been taken to hospital after his car flipped over onto its roof

A car ended up on its roof after careering out of control and hitting a garden wall on a Wigan borough road.

The male driver was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries and his condition is not known following the collision on Leigh Road, Leigh, at around midnight on Thursday October 6.

Crews from Atherton and nearby Leigh fire stations attended the scene although it is not thought they were needed to help the casualty get free from the wreckage.

However they did stay at the scene for about 45 minutes to make the area safe.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said that the man was taken by ambulance to Wigan Infirmary for treatment.
