Car overturned after aquaplaning on M6
A driver was lucky to escape without injury after losing control of his car in heavy rain.
The car aquaplaned and overturned on the embankment between junction 27 and 26 of the M6 southbound at around 10.45pm on Thursday.
A crew from Wigan fire station were called to the scene as it was feared the driver was trapped but when they arrived he had freed himself from the vehicle.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are reminding people to take care when driving in dangerous conditions.
