Claire Taylor was just 34 when she died at the Newcastle hospital after contracting multiple infections following the gruelling operation.

The lifelong heart patient had a one in three chance of surviving the procedure and passed away in September despite a long and arduous battle.

Her grieving wife, who married Claire in the hospital just months before her death, has decided to “give something back” to the staff who worked so hard to save her soulmate.

Celli said: “I thought about the things Claire loved and she loved music.

“When I was at the Freeman I was allowed to stay on site and the FHLTA helped me so much I just want to give something back. It is also Claire’s chosen charity.”

Together, with the help of Boulevard owners Emma and Sophie Elliott, Celli has organised a night of live music with the proceeds going to the charity.

“I have had such a great response from people and companies regarding donations we have some great prizes.”

Heart2Heart will take place at The Boulevard in Wigan on Saturday.

Tickets are £3 and doors open at 4pm.
