Electric bike seized by Wigan police as they arrest man in his 50s found with 'suspected class A drugs'

Police arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and seized his electric bike.

Officers on patrol in Astley became suspicious of a man riding an e-bike on Ennerdale Road on Friday night.

A police spokesman said: “Swiftly stopping the male before he could make off, he was searched and found in possession of suspected class A drugs.

“The 53-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and remains in custody for questioning. The electric bike has been seized and taken off the road.”
