A post describing the incident on GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley's Facebook page also contained a message for the offenders.

It said: "If the lads in the car want to claim their property back they’re welcome to pop into Leigh Police Station. Whilst you’re here we can also offer some advice about going around corners so your wheel doesn’t end up hanging off again."

The exact time and location of the incident are currently unclear.
