Joseph Burns, 41, of Bowland Avenue, Ashton, appeared before borough magistrates to plead guilty to assaulting a PC Stewart on December 1, 2019.

He was ordered to carry out 120 hours’ unpaid work and complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities while paying compensation to his victim.
