Criminals pictured being put to good use clearing up litter in Wigan

Linney Square, Wells Place, the path next to Wigan Little Theatre, Orchard Street and land off Hall Street and behind Brook House have all benefited from the Scholes spruce-up courtesy of the Community Payback Team.

A spokesperson for GMP Wigan West said: “If you have an area in Scholes you feel would benefit from a visit why not let us know when you see us about?

"Or do so at our next police surgery which is coming up on the November 18 and we will see what we can do?
