Damian Sharratt, of Elizabethan Walk, Platt Bridge, stood before Manchester justices to plead not guilty to a charge of controlling and coercive behaviour towards a named female between January 1 2023 and November 30 2025.

It is alleged that during that time he "subjected her to verbal and degrading abuse, control who she was friends with on social media. You threatened violence towards her. You caused multiple criminal damages to her property by snapping her phone, breaking her television, going to her address and throwing food over her property. You have assaulted her on multiple occasions."

He also denied throttling her between March 1 and November 30 2025 and putting her in fear of violence through harassment between April 25 and May 17 this year.

That charge alleges that he "called her on no caller ID, went to her address and threw food over her property multiple times, and also went to her property and was banging on the windows and door."

Sharratt was granted conditional bail until a trial takes place at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on February 15 next year.
