Two men have been accused of causing a Wigan crash which left a man with serious injuries.

Stephen Grimshaw and Mark Wohler are alleged to have been driving two cars dangerously on Bickershaw Lane last October 6 which led to an horrific collision.

Christopher Rigby was trapped in the wreckage of a Ford Fusion and needed to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to hospital with multiple injuries.

Wohler, 35, of HMP Berwyn, is accused of driving the Fusion dangerously on Atherleigh Way, Nel Pan Lane and Bickershaw Lane and also aggravated vehicle-taking. Grimshaw, 37, of HMP Forest Bank, is charged with driving a VW Golf dangerously on Bickershaw Lane.

Wigan magistrates committed the pair to appear at Bolton Crown Court on October 21. They have yet to plead.
