Man accused of brutal attack

A man has been accused of launching a savage attack.

Robert Aspinall, 30, of Douglas Street, Atherton, appeared before Wigan justices charged with the intentional malicious wounding of Graham Mitchell.

He also faces a lesser alternative charge of wounding without intent in relation to the alleged incident on August 16 last year.

The bench bailed Aspinall until he makes his first appearance before a Bolton Crown Court judge on May 19.
