Man accused of carjacking and criminal damage

A young man has been accused of two robberies - one of them a carjacking - and criminal damage.

Declan Prescott, 23, of Tower Grove, Leigh, is charged with robbing Dale Prescott of a Ford van and damaging Bethany Cook’s Renault Clio on the same day: September 1.

He is further charged with robbing Richard Hewitt of cigarettes and a till on May 27.

Wigan magistrates remanded him into youth custody until he makes a first appearance before a Bolton Crown Court judge on January 18. He has yet to enter any pleas.
