A man has admitted breaking into a house and launching a vicious New Year’s Day assault against one of its occupants.

Mark Ward, 27, of Church Street, Leigh, stood before a Bolton to plead guilty to entering an address in Hope Street as a trespasser and causing Andrew Thorpe grievous bodily harm on January 1, 2020. He was bailed pending January 14 sentence.
