When he appearing before Wigan and Leigh magistrates he had pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon and affray - crimes which were so serious that he was remanded in custody between that hearing and sentencing at Bolton Crown Court.

The hearing also heard that he had a record of skipping bail and a bad criminal record.

At crown court he was given 10 months for each of the crimes, although the terms will be served concurrently.
