Molester is ordered to compensate his victim

A man who admitted molesting a woman and attacking a police officer has been given a commununity punishment.

Jessy Jones, 30, of Leigh Road, Atherton, had denied sexually assaulting the woman last February 12 but was found guilty after a trial by Wigan justices.

He had also denied assaulting a police officer on April 20 but later changed his plea to guilty.

Jones was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activities.

He must also pay compensation to the woman and court costs totalling £350.

The court did not order him to compensate the police officer as well after hearing he had limited means.
