One of Wigan’s most prolific thieves is back behind bars after breaching a suspended sentence.

Borough justices heard Zara Fairhurst was banned from Boots at Robin Park and yet on November 25 she went there. This put her in breach of a 20-week suspended sentence – given for shoplifting at Robin Park’s Asda and TK Maxx – and so now she had been sent to prison for eight weeks.

The 30-year-old of Vulcan Road, Marsh Green, is a regular visitor to Wigan’s courts. In August she was given a 16-week jail term for seating £667 worth of goods from Asda while breaching a criminal behaviour order which had only been imposed in March for previous offences. In May, she had been given a 20-week term for stealing meats from Lidl, the bench remarking on her “appalling record of offending.”
