Pervert had stash of child and animal porn

Simon Nuttall, 51, of Green Lane in Leigh, appeared before a Bolton judge having already admitted having 20 extreme pornographic images - 19 of which featured dogs – and an indecent image of a child.

The hearing was told police had received intelligence that he may have been communicating with a child. In May 2018, officers seized a tablet and a phone which when examined found the banned images. There were no charges from the original allegation.

Nuttall was given an 18-month community order which includes carrying out 100 hours’ unpaid work and 20 days of rehab activities. He was also made the subject of a five-year sexual harm prevention order and must sign on the sex offenders’ register for the same period.

He must also pay £340 in costs and forfeit a mobile phone for destruction.
