Police and fire crews were called to a man on a window ledge at a house in Wigan.

Greater Manchester Police and firefighters from Leigh, Horwich and Bolton were called to the incident at a property in Standishgate at around 12.20pm today (February 2).

Crews and officers used a ladder to help the man down.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 12.20pm on Tuesday 2 December three crews from Leigh, Horwich and Bolton Central fire stations were called to an incident involving a man on a window ledge at a residential property on Standishgate, Wigan.

“Crews used a short extension ladder to assist the man. Firefighters worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and were at the scene for around 40 minutes.”
