A man with a drink problem who attacked three people on the day he stole a bottle of alcohol has been given a community punishment.
Michael Duffy, 39, of Castle Street, Tyldesley, appeared in the dock at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court to admit that he assaulted James Fallon, Connor Davies and Thomas Banks by beating after taking a bottle of liquor for Tydlesley’s Aldi store on August 12.

Hide AdThe bench put him on an alcohol treatment programme, ordered him to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
Duffy was also directed to pay each of his assault victims £75 in compensation.
The total bill he must pay of £405 also comprised court costs and a victim services surcharge.
