Stabbing probe continues as man is released without charge

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident on Westbourne Avenue, in Leigh, which happened just after 8.45pm on Thursday.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police arrested the 26-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 assault, but say no further action will be taken now he has been released.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7254, quoting log 2801 of February 4.
