‘Vehicles will be seized’ if illicit bank holiday car meets take place in Wigan

A dispersal notice has been put in place over a wide area of Wigan for the bank holiday weekend.

Police said the operation was aimed at preventing the anti-social behaviour the area has experienced with "selfish and irresponsible people" attending for illicit car meets.

The areas covered are Orrell, Winstanley, Marsh Green, Norley Hall, Worsley Hall, Robin Park, Pemberton and Worsley Mesnes.

"Anybody involved in this anti-social behaviour will have their vehicle seized and face prosecution", a police post on Facebook said.
