A man who admitted attacking another has been given a community sentence.

Andrew Brown, 38, of Marsh Green, appeared before Wigan justices to plead guilty to assaulting Stephen Townley and sending a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character. The bench put him on an alcohol rehabilitation programme, and ordered him to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay his victim £150 and £90 to victim services.
