Wigan man charged after armed attack at Blackpool hotel

Detectives investigating a machete attack at a Blackpool hotel, which left three people in hospital, have charged a man from Wigan.

Officers were called at around 11.15pm on July 5th to a hotel on Queens Promenade, Blackpool, to reports of a public order incident.

When they arrived they discovered that a group of approximately seven men, in possession of weapons including machetes, had attacked another group of men before making off from the area. Three people were taken to hospital for treatment but have since been discharged.

Andrew Price, 26, of Leaway, Ince, Wigan has been charged with violent disorder and was due to appear at Preston Magistrates Court today, July 29.

Francis Michael Dinnigan, 25, of Leighton Street, Preston, was charged with the same offence and was also set to appear at the same courthouse.

Patrick Gavin, 36 and also of Leighton Street, Preston, was charged with violent disorder and appeared before Preston magistrates on July 22.
