Wigan police turn out in force to execute warrants, make arrests and seize assets in special operation
Fourteen people have already been arrested by police carrying out dawn raids across the borough.

Police officers based in Wigan and across Greater Manchester turned out in force this morning for Operation Avro.
They have been executing warrants, making arrests, carrying out traffic and speeding operations, seizing assets such as cars without insurance, and doing drugs raids.
Chief Supt Emily Higham, Wigan’s district commander, has been leading the raids, with Chief Constable Stephen Watson among those in attendance.
