Young driver had taken cocaine and cannabis

A young motorist will be sentenced in the new year after admitting he drove while under the influence of cocaine and cannabis.

Dayne Howarth, 22, of Highcrest Grove, Tyldesley, stood before Wigan magistrates also to plead guilty to being at the wheel of a Ford Transit outside his home on February 9 without insurance and a driver’s licence, and to obstructing a PC Upton in the execution of his duty.

The bench set a sentencing date of January 5, before which an interim driving ban has been imposed while Howarth is on bail.
