Driver cut from car after crash

The Audi A4 driver, said to be in his 30s, was taken to Hope hospital following the collision, on Grave Oak Lane, near the Greyhound roundabout on the East Lancs.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened at 2am on Thursday, and the man’s injuries were not thought to be serious.

Police attended the scene, as did firefighters who had to use specialist equipment to remove the car’s roof and free the driver.
