Electrical fault closes Wigan recycling centre
The main household waste recycling centre in Wigan has been temporarily closed due to an electrical fault.
Motorists are currently being turned away from the Kirkless site, in Makerfield Way, Higher Ince.
But people with waste or recycling are being redirected to the Slag Lane complex, near Lowton, and the Chanters site, near Atherton.
A Wigan Council spokesman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will inform the public as soon as the centre reopens."
