The driver of a car hit by a tree during yesterday's storm in Wigan may have suffered life-altering injuries
A motorist is being treated for potentially life-changing injuries following a horror car smash caused by Sunday’s gale-force winds
Police have revealed that one of three people who were in a car when Storm Boelo brought a tree down on top of it in Wigan was seriously harmed.

Emergency services were called to Rectory Lane, Standish, on Sunday (October 25) afternoon after the mature tree crushed a passing vehicle near the railway bridge.
One of the occupants was able to scramble free of the wreckage and was relatively unscathed, but two others had to be cut from it with specialist gear by firefighters.
Both people, details of whom have not been disclosed, were taken to hospital for treatment and a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that the driver of the car may have suffered life-altering injuries.
Yesterday’s storm brought widespread disruption in Wigan borough, causing a power outage, disrupting rail services and causing other routes to be blocked with felled trees.
