Firefighters and officers are working from temporary accommodation on site so that work can take place.

The joint venture involves Greater Manchester Fire And Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service with contractor Willmott Dixon.

The building will open next summer.

The ambulance station on Pottery Road will close once the new centre opens.
