Fallen tree cleared from road
A busy road blocked by a fallen tree has been reopened.
Gathurst Road in Orrell was closed from 5.30am until around 8.50am after the large tree fell across Gathurst Hill near to the railway bridge.
Wigan Council has now completed work to remove the tree and the road has been reopened.
There was also some flooding in the area after heavy rain and strong winds hit the borough last night.
