Man left with head injuries after falling onto train tracks

Police were called to Wigan North Western at 4.20pm yesterday, Thursday, following reports that a man had fallen onto the tracks.

He was taken to hospital with injuries to his head.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Our officers were called to Wigan North Western station at around 4.20pm on Thursday following reports of a person having fallen onto the tracks.

“Colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service also attended and a man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head.

“The incident is not being treated as a suspicious.”
