Police were called at 2.15pm on Friday, July 20 to reports a man had been stabbed on Carfield in Skelmersdale.

Det Con Andy Gill, of Skelmersdale police, said: “This has happened in broad daylight and has caused serious injury to the victim.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we’re urging anyone with any information at all to please speak to us immediately, if they haven’t already.”

A 43-year-old man from Skelmersdale has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and has been released on bail until August 17.
