Floral tributes left for young man who ‘always had a smile on his face’

The tributes to Oliver Wane, which also include cards and balloons have been placed near Martland Mill on the fishing lodges side of Scot Lane, Wigan.

One message said: “Oliver, may you always have an angel by your side. All our love, Lynne, Sean and Katie.”

Another adds: “Dear Oliver, may God hold you in his loving arms and give you his peace.

“All our love, uncle and family.”

Friends have also taken to Facebook to pay their respects to Oliver, aged about 20, who was from Westhoughton and was a pupil at Westhoughton High School and Runshaw College.

Mollie Olivia said: “Yesterday I lost one of my bestest friends. I’m so so sorry.

“You are going to be missed by many. I will always remember the good memories we had and never forget

“I promise we will all stay strong! RIP Oli I love you so so much.”

Steph Ashton said: “Never thought I’d be saying goodbye to you so soon, you was such a kind, caring and lovely lad.

“You always had a massive smile on your face.”

Carron Kimblin added: “You was such a massive influence in my life and you always will be.

“I made you a promise and trust me when I say I will build our empire.

“Forever and always Olly forever and always. Rest easy, I love you and always will.”
